Open-air markets, such as Fakenham, Wymondham and Aylsham meant Richard and Angela invested in two refrigerated trailers to transport a range of local fish products inland to these rural market towns that do not ordinarily have access to such fresh seafood. From boiled and dressed crabs of all sizes, lobsters, samphire, sea bass, cockles, mussels, whelks and line-caught cod, we endeavour to catch and prepare the fish ourselves, or buy from local fisherman who have been to sea with Richard.
In the early 2000s, farmers markets were getting established in Norfolk. Very early events were held in town halls. We can remember taking a refrigerated counter and a supply of pastes and Potted Shrimps to North Walsham where TV chef and Radio Norfolk host Patrick Anthony tasted our products and invited Angela on to the show to talk more about her recipes.
We are currently attending Aylsham on the first Saturday of the month. Wymondham and Aylsham on the third Saturday of the month. And Fakenham on the fourth Saturday of the month. |
